Register Now for Rules Changes: Agency and Disclosure

In the past two weeks, we’ve sent direct emails to every licensee in BC encouraging each of you to sign up for the Rules Changes: Agency and Disclosure course. By completing this self-paced online course available through UBC’s Sauder School of Business, you’ll ensure you are up to date with the changes coming into effect this month.

If you haven’t yet registered for the course, do it now! We strongly encourage all licensees to complete the course as soon as possible. Keep in mind that after October 1, 2018, you will have to show proof with your licence renewal application that you have completed the course.

All five forms will be available in translated versions, including: French, Punjabi, Farsi, Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Look for these versions to become available shortly after June 15, 2018.

There's an App For That! Digital Disclosure Forms Coming

The Real Estate Council of BC is pleased to announce that we will be launching a digital web app to help licensees meet their disclosure obligations under the Superintendent’s agency & disclosure rules.

Using the RECBC Forms App licensees will be able to digitally fill out the Disclosure of Representation in Trading Services and the Disclosure of Risks to Unrepresented Parties forms with consumers. You can choose to use the app or the print forms to meet your disclosure requirements.

Look for the app on our Knowledge Base starting next Thursday, June 14th, along with helpful tips, a how-to video and other resources to support you to use the app.

Video Guides to the Forms

Looking for an overview of how and when to use the Council’s mandatory forms that is short, to the point, and easy to understand? Check out these video guides, launched on our Knowledge Base today.

And in the weeks ahead, look for two more videos that we will be launching soon: a guide to the Agreement on Conflict of Interest, and guidance for managing brokers on records management and audit requirements with regards to the new forms.
